Class Description

The Vibe~ A nurturing, restorative session for anyone who needs some dedicated, structured time to truly relax and let go. Whether you're well practised or feel the need to relearn what it means to rest deeply, this class offers a welcoming, calm and distraction-free space to simply be. No previous experience or special skills are needed—just a willingness to experience the many benefits of deep rest and relaxation. This calming practice asks very little of you beyond lying comfortably still, breathing naturally and listening. Blankets, pillows and comfortable clothing are highly encouraged, snoring and tummy gurgles are absolutely welcome! Gentle music and tailored verbal guidance support your awareness as you journey towards that wonderful state somewhere between wakefulness and sleep. It is here that your mind, body and nervous system can begin to process, restore, heal and regenerate. This style of practice is known as NSDR (Non-Sleep Deep Rest) and shares many principles with Yoga Nidra, as well as the yogic practice of Pratyahara, often described as a gentle withdrawal of the senses. Growing scientific research suggests that NSDR practices can support improved mental and physical wellbeing by promoting deep relaxation and recovery. My classes weave together elements of breathwork, Yoga Nidra (including Sankalpa, or personal intention), guided visualisation and focused attention. Together, these practices help settle the mind, activate the parasympathetic nervous system—our natural "rest and digest" response—and quiet the stress-driven activity of the sympathetic nervous system. In doing so, they invite your mind to "close its open tabs," leaving you feeling calmer, more focused, emotionally balanced and better equipped to move through daily life with clarity and ease. Grounded, down-to-earth and accessible, this practice is deceptively simple. It asks very little, yet offers something many of us are missing: a genuine opportunity to pause, deeply rest and step away from the constant demands of modern life. In return, you'll often discover a greater sense of balance, resilience, stable mood and overall wellbeing that extends far beyond the class itself.
